When asking friends how they judge the quality of a restaurant, very often the answer is: by the toilets.
So here is the design challenge: we need toilets which look smart and clean and are easily maintained. One of the toilets will be ambient to provide enough space for a wheelchair or a pram.
We put a specification list together … washbasins, taps, toilets, cisterns, flush buttons, holders for soap and toilet roles, a nappy changing unit, handles for support, hand dryers, coat hooks, floor and wall tiles, mirrors. Is that it? There might be more.
Yesterday I went to the C.P. Hart showroom and had a look around. The choice is mind boggling. There must be about 100 taps for washbasins on display. Predictably I will stick with the classics Duravit, Hansgrohe et al. Not cheap, not expensive, good quality and well designed to last. Can’t go wrong.
What colours should the tiles be? We need to discuss colours!
