Our first chef’s feast will feature a menu inspired by the region of Piedmont, in the North-West of Italy.
Renowned for its vineyards, Piedmont’s most famous wines include Barolo, Barbaresco, Asti and Gavi.
At Festa, our house white – Roero Arneis – is from this region. It is made entirely from the Arneis grape, which is local to the Roero District of Piedmont. In the local dialect, the name literally means ‘little rascal’ – so named, because it can be difficult to grow.
The producer, Tenuta Neirano, was set up in 1911 by Antonio Sperone and is still owned and run by the Sperone family today, combining rural tradition with modern technology.
The wine is pale yellow in colour, with a greenish tint. Fruity and easy to drink, it is crisp and clean, with notes of green apple, lemon and white blossom
